The ancient farm lies in the Savoyen Alps between Geneva and the Mont Blanc massif. After the demolition of the roof it became clear that nearly all the masonry had to be torn down and rebuilt on new fundaments. The building contractors desired a maximum of authenticity when reconstructing the ensemble. Therefore, the tiers of beams, the framework, the visible roof truss and even the timber cladding were restored with ancient wood. Each element was individually adjusted to its surrounding structure. Artificial joining was impossible, as no two cross sections were identical.
