The victorian town hall was built close to Lincoln Park a few years after the great fire in 1871. In 2013/14, the building was entirely renovated garding the original style in the building periphery. Here, special care was taken in restoring the historic door reveals, the firesides, and the pargetting.
The central part of the building with vestibule and the vertical opening was, in contrast, renewed in a completely modern way. Sunlight pours now through the added penthouse over the elegant steel-oak-construction of the novel staircase into the lower levels. Two new roof terraces were created in the east and the west of the building, which can be accessed through frameless sliding glass elements.
